Each and every individual in the world is self-concious; usually with their appearance. Everyone at LEAST once has stood starring infront of a mirror just focusing on one small detail or imperfection on their body. Everyone has their own phobias of their appearances, or what their bodies could become/look like. However, many people do not realize how their thoughts and own image critiques are bringing them into a whole new world of anxiety. Many today are suffering from their obsessions of their appearance. Getting used to hiding yourself can affect many things in your lifestyle like relationships, your job, school, and can keep you from being happy. I think that being obsessed with your imperfections creates unneeded stress and can even change your personality. Also, I believe that the main thing that creates people's negative outlooks on their appearances is the media. Movies, celebrities, music videos, games, etc... all affect how you look at yourself.

Each and every individual in the world is self-concious; thats what you said and I completely agree with you. I myself am self-concious and I have looked in the mirror for a long time and just focussed on the small detail or imperfection on my body. I dont understand how some one could be in such a manner that apperience would effect there lifes. I am just saying your making a good point on how apperience is a big part of someones life.
Its a bummer to see how media has diminished individualism. Society and Media have created an addiction to self appearance, in which everyone strives to feel satisfied with their appearance, which is normal, but when personality and other values are overlooked it begins to diminish individual expression. How do we express ourselves?
I really agree with what you are saying in this blog. Its crazy to think what if we took the time and added up how many mins, hours, days and so on some that we spend looking at ourselves in the mirror. And I know I spend a lot of time making sure I have enough makeup on look like I think I should to kill my self-conciousness.
